Interview Copilot is a Chrome extension that transcribes interview audio you explicitly capture, extracts the interviewer's questions, and optionally forwards them to an agent endpoint that you configure. It has no developer-operated backend: nothing is sent to the extension's author.
| Data | When | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Audio from the tab or microphone you start on | Only between pressing Start and Stop | Streamed to Deepgram for transcription with the API key you enter in Options. Never stored by the extension. |
| Transcript text | While recording | Kept in memory; written to <Downloads>/file/transcript.txt (path configurable). |
| Extracted questions | While recording or on Extract now | Kept in memory; written to <Downloads>/file/question.txt. Optionally sent to CommandCode for LLM extraction with your own key. |
| Settings (API keys, endpoints, file paths) | When you save Options | chrome.storage.local on this device. |
If you enable delivery in Options, the extension POSTs newly detected questions to the HTTP
endpoint you provide (for example your own agent service). That endpoint is chosen by you; the
extension ships with no endpoint configured and sends nothing while delivery mode is
none.
api.deepgram.com) — speech to text, using your account.api.commandcode.ai) — optional LLM question extraction, using your account. Each of these services processes data under its own terms. There is no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDK in the extension.
Transcript and question files stay in your Downloads folder until you delete them. In-memory state is cleared when you press Reset or when the service worker unloads. Removing the extension deletes its stored settings.
The extension is not directed at children and collects no personal information by itself.
